A world to be won

Inspired by Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things, Search director Anne-Marie Rakhorst took part in a workshop in London led by Michael Braungart in November 2006. During the course of a single afternoon, she saw how the new sustainable world he envisioned could be created: A world full of dynamism, positivism, energy, respect for our planet and of limitless opportunities. For Rakhorst it was confirmation that she was on the right track with her own book, Sustainable Development… a Global Opportunity. Inspired, she decided to take the lead in bringing the Dutch translation of Cradle to Cradle onto the market and to introduce the ideas and theories put forward by the visionaries Braungart and McDonough to a wide audience.

The Dutch edition of Cradle to Cradle was launched during the Let’s Cradle conference at the Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Centre (MECC) on 1 November 2007. The author Michael Braungart was present as a speaker. Anne-Marie Rakhorst, director and owner of Search and the driving force behind the Dutch edition, presented the author with the first copy.
